IPA PHOTO CAMP HANOI
An intensive 4 day workshop designed by Invisible Photographer Asia (IPA) for beginners to intermediate photographers who want to appreciate and study street photography, whilst exploring personal perspectives and narratives of Hanoi, one of Asia’s most charming, enigmatic cities.
The course will include portfolio reviews and explore concepts from practical photography to editing and curation. Participants will develop their skills and photographic voice in tune with the practice and sensibilities of contemporary street photography. The workshop will be led by Kevin WY Lee, founder of IPA, along with veteran Vietnamese photographer Hai Thanh and guest mentor Maika Elan, recent World Press Photo 2013 Winner.
The 4 day course will cover:
An introduction to Street Photography – History, Contemporary Practice, Asia
Tools, techniques and tips
Intensive practical photography in the streets of Hanoi, Vietnam
Image critique and review
Basic to Intermediate photography skills – you know how to take pictures.
Participants are required to submit their portfolio or project images (Approximately 10-20) as JPG files for the Portfolio Reviews session on Day 1.
A digital camera with a lens of between 20mm to 50mm focal length lens (35mm equivalent). We strongly recommend the focal length of 35mm.
A laptop with photo-editing software.
Comfortable shoes & a good dose of curiosity.
